Now that the holidays have come and gone, it is a time for reminiscing and reflection. No, not of the most recent holidays. Those ones were terrible. All we wanted was a pair of roller-blades. What was so hard about that? Grumble.
Rather, let’s remember the year prior, and the introduction of KK BOLD’s first annual Step Up! competition. The winner by public vote was Designer Genes of North Dakota, a non-profit support network for families of children with Down syndrome. Designer Genes won a one-year contract with KK BOLD worth $15,000 in marketing. Now, a year later, we are looking back at all the fun we had working with Designer Genes in 2014, and how we were able to assist them in their important work. On both sides, we’ve been very happy with how things have gone.
Designer Genes’ top priority was the development of a brochure summarizing the services they provide for use with multiple audiences, including parents, healthcare professionals, legislators and others. KK BOLD and Designer Genes reviewed the group’s existing publications and directed the content to the key facts that help explain the organization’s mission.
The next step in enhancing Designer Genes’ brand was helping them prepare for public presentations. Both a display booth and a flag for use at indoor and outdoor events were developed.
The third priority was creating an updated and mobile friendly online presence for Designer Genes’. The new site features their new brand and design and tailors information to the needs of specific website users. We’re looking forward to helping them launch their new site soon!
The final project we worked on was tying everything together by incorporating their new look into multiple collateral pieces, including stationery, note cards, envelopes, package inserts, folders and boxes. All of the finished products tied together to help give Designer Genes a new look, new marketing package and new resolve.
We are happy to be able to give back to this worthy cause. Our hope is that we’ve helped them expand their mission and reach more things in the year to come. Our thanks to Designer Genes for a great year and we hope to work with them again really soon.
