In a room filled with the men and women of the Bismarck-Mandan business community, the Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC lifted the curtain on their new brand.
It started with the decision to merge the Bismarck Mandan Development Association and the Bismarck Mandan Chamber of Commerce into one. As North Dakota’s leading brand-building agency, KK BOLD was tasked with bringing the two business leaders together.
Step one in the rebranding process was putting together focus groups. KK BOLD set up discovery meetings with each board, subcommittee, and members of the Chamber staff to get input on the new logo and name.
“One of the things we talked about was making sure that everyone had buy in,“ LaRoy Kingsley, president and owner of KK BOLD said.
After the research was done, a list of four potential names was chosen, and with that, the design phase began.
“It was one of the most extensive processes we’ve gone through for a new name and new logo development and I think the end product speaks for itself,“ Kingsley said.
The chosen design centers around the new Chamber EDC’s mission.
“It represents a lot of thing such as prosperity, growth, and strength. But at the heart of it, the design encapsulates what the Chamber EDC is looking to achieve, to support the growth of business in the Bismarck-Mandan community,” Janene Pudwill, KK BOLD art director said.
Now, united under one vision and one brand, two organizations are united.
“It’s a great representation of the Chamber and the BMDA now being the Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC. It will be something the business community can be proud of for many years to come.”
