Domestic Violence Crisis Center Wins KK BOLD’s “Step Up!” Contest
BISMARCK, N.D. – The Domestic Violence Crisis Center, Minot, N.D., has won the KK BOLD Step Up! community service contest and will receive up to $15,000 in free creative services from the marketing firm.
Domestic Violence Crisis Center was selected through a public nomination and voting process. Non-profit/not-for-profit organizations in Bismarck/Mandan or Minot, N.D., (KK BOLD’s key in-state service areas) or those with statewide missions were eligible to win.
“Our team is excited about the opportunity to work with the Domestic Violence Crisis Center,” said LaRoy Kingsley,
KK BOLD president. “We’re looking forward to our new role in helping the center stop the cycle of violence.”
This is the third time the advertising agency has invited public participation in a Step Up! community service project. The nomination process began on July 18, 2017, and 44 nominations were received. The KK BOLD team narrowed the field to six finalists; public voting on KK BOLD’s website and Facebook page ended at midnight Aug. 14, 2017.
“Our thanks to everyone who participated in the Step Up! nomination and voting process,” said Kingsley. “There are so many ways to give back to others, and each of the organizations that were nominated is an inspiration to all of us at KK BOLD.”

In addition to the services provided to the Domestic Violence Crisis Center, for the first time, KK BOLD is offering brief consultative services to the finalists who came in second and third in the voting. These agencies are the North Dakota Head Start Association and Charles Hall Youth Services.

KK BOLD Announces Finalists in Step Up! Community Service Contest; Voting Is Now Underway
BISMARCK, N.D. – Online voting for the six finalists in KK BOLD’s Step Up! community service contest begins today. The non-profit/not-for-profit organization that earns the most votes will receive up to $15,000 in free creative services from KK BOLD.
This is the third time the advertising agency has invited the public to determine the winner of its community service project through a nomination and voting process. Voting is limited to one vote per calendar day per IP address. Voting will continue through midnight Aug. 14, 2017, and the winner will be announced Aug. 16, 2017.
“The response to our call for nominations in the Step Up! contest was even greater than anticipated,” said LaRoy Kingsley, KK BOLD president. “Our staff was very impressed by the types and depth of work being done to improve the lives of others, especially the many services provided to children in our communities. We reviewed 44 nominations, and narrowing them down to six finalists was an extremely difficult task.”

KK BOLD Announces Its 2017 “Step Up!” Community Service Project
BISMARCK, N.D. – KK BOLD today announced the Tuesday, July 18, 2017, opening of nominations for a non-profit/not-for-profit agency to receive up to $15,000 in free creative services from the advertising agency.
KK BOLD is inviting participation in Step Up!, its community service program. The winner will be determined by a public nomination and voting process. Nominations can be made on KK BOLD’s website at kkbold.com; voting will take place on the agency’s website and Facebook page.
Creative services for the Step Up! contest winner will begin Sept. 1, 2017, and will be completed by Aug. 31, 2018. To be eligible, non-profit/not-for-profit agencies must be located in Bismarck/Mandan or Minot, N.D., (KK BOLD’s key in-state service areas) or have a statewide mission.
“Step Up! gives our staff an additional creative outlet and the satisfaction of giving back to an organization that needs assistance in establishing its brand,” said LaRoy Kingsley, KK BOLD president.
“Agencies entered in the previous two Step Up! contests represented a broad range of services and reinforced the need for this type of community service project. We look forward to the nomination and voting process and to working with another worthy group.”
Previous recipients of KK BOLD agency services through Step Up! were Designer Genes, a Down syndrome support network, and Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue, an animal welfare organization.
