You might not know this, but it is possible to win big with the North Dakota Lottery in a way that doesn’t involve picking the right numbers and passing out in front of your television screen as they’re read off. Specifically, each year state lotteries around the country compete in the Batchy Awards, which are presented to members of the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL) for outstanding advertising and business communication achievements. And this year, for the first time ever, the North Dakota Lottery came out as a Top 3 finalist for their TV campaign created by KK BOLD.
The North Dakota Lottery finished in the Top 3 in the TV Campaign under $10,000 category. The winning ad was our airport commercial, which saw wide plays on network television around the state this summer, so many of you reading this should already be familiar with it. The airport ad first aired last March as part of the Lottery’s new branding campaign that also consisted of a second TV spot, radio, social media and digital billboards.
“Nationally, lottery advertising tends to be pretty good quality, especially when it comes to branding efforts.” says KK BOLD president LaRoy Kingsley. “The management team at the ND Lottery allowed us the opportunity to put our state’s efforts on par with some of the best in the country.”
Here’s the North Dakota Lottery spot that earned a finalist nomination:
We think it’s a North Dakota Lottery-sized winner, and the Batchy Awards agree. So while nobody’s going to be showing up at our doorstep to present us with a giant check while we’re still in our bathrobe and curlers, it’s still a thrill to be a finalist.
