Earlier this year, we celebrated Ted Hanson’s ten years of service to KK BOLD with the Tedcade. Then, we acknowledged Jackie Hawkinson’s 25 years with the Jackquarter Century. And now, with Marci Goldade completing her 20th year as a full-time employee at KK BOLD, thus begins the Marcillennium. Which yes, we realize would technically be a thousand years, but her name fits too well into millennium to let that kind of an opportunity pass, so just work with us here. We’re doing the best we can.
Marci has been with KK BOLD since March of 1993, which means technically her anniversary was eight months ago, but shhhhhh. Don’t say anything. We were busy and forgot. Anyway, Marci was originally hired part-time as a receptionist, before moving to full-time employment however many months later as a copywriter. Since then, she has also worked as an account assistant, an account executive, and her current position as our media director. She is also our official agency activity planner, which means she comes up with more and more creative ways for everyone to get happy at the agency Christmas party each year. For which, we’ve been meaning to say thanks.
As KK BOLD’s media director, Marci spends our clients’ media dollars effectively and efficiently while leading the Media Department, made up of digital, television, radio and outdoor media experts. She secures media placement on TV, radio, internet radio, online, outdoor and print, and she makes sure that things run when they’re supposed to run. Like a mob enforcer, kind of. Not really. She has also, she would like it to be known, gotten to record the disclaimers that runs at the end of political ads in the past. So yeah, that’s her. She’s the one. She also signs autographs, if you’re interested.
Marci is happily married to her husband of twenty-one years, Craig, and is the exceptionally proud parent of two children, Tyler, 21, and Lexi, 19. In her non-working hours, of which there are occasional, she teaches aerobics and is a certified Zumba instructor, which we’re told is a kind of a workout and not a robot vacuum cleaner like we had thought. She also enjoys running and spending time at her lake cabin, where she and her family and friends get to gather to enjoy the great outdoors, which is a very good thing to use a lake cabin for.
When asked to say nice things about Marci, KK BOLD CEO Wayne Kranzler said, “We’ve been very fortunate to be able to observe and enjoy Marci’s obvious skills, knowledge and especially her delightful personality, for two decades. Her quiet confidence coupled with a pervasive smile have brightened many days for both our staff and clients.” Added KK BOLD President LaRoy Kingsley, ” Marci is simply one of the most delightful employees I’ve ever had. Smart, intuitive, accountable and the clients just love her. Wish we could clone her, but she is truly one of a kind.” He also was on record as saying that Marci was a unique kind of awesome but we are hesitant to add that as it has a word that we can’t print without using asterisks.
And thus, every one of us at KK BOLD wishes to express our sincere fondness and admiration for Marci, who we’ve been happy to call a co-worker and a friend for the last twenty years, and who we hope we’ll get to see here for twenty years more.
Leave a note of congratulations for Marci on her 20th anniversary, which you really should have done back in March. But maybe you have a functioning time machine. Which if you do, could we borrow it? We need it for similar reasons.
