Good things tend to happen when you take two existing things and put them together. Peanut butter and jelly. Steak and eggs. Bacon and anything else. So’s the case with North Dakota United, which is the combination of the North Dakota Education Association and the North Dakota Public Employees Association. The merger of these two organizations results in a newer, stronger and more coordinated organization, and KK BOLD assisted them in their launch.
KK BOLD has a long history of working with both the NDEA and the NDPEA, so in February when the two organizations voted to merge, they didn’t have to look far to find a branding agency that knew what they were doing. We started them off with new looks, a new logo and an earned media campaign to properly inform and introduce them to the greater state of North Dakota.
In the three months following, we met with their leadership to draw up plans for marketing the new organization. That included helping them to design a new website, at ndunited.org. The website launched in early September, and incorporated the company’s new image, contained extensive information on the company’s past, merger and future plans, tied together the organization’s social media outlets, and provided them with the ability to update the site themselves in the future.
We also created radio and newspaper ads for North Dakota United introducing the merger to the general public at large, as well as assisted with the release of op-eds and news releases to newspapers all across the state. In short, we worked to establish name recognition from the get-go, and did our best to make sure as many people knew as possible about the creation of North Dakota United.
NDU is now in full operation, ready to have a major impact on the future direction of the state of North Dakota. As they do so, we look forward to continuing to work in coordination with them. United, you might even say. If you like being self-referential.
