Like most advertising agencies, we like to think of our clients as our children, and when they do well, we are exceedingly proud of them. Now, true, our clients are not our actual children, and most would probably very vehemently disagree with being thought of as such, but it doesn’t change the fact that we are still proud of them when they do well.
Such is the case with two KK BOLD clients, Medora and Norsk Høstfest, both recently named to Top 100 Events in North America for 2014 by the American Bus Association (ABA). This is an extreme honor to have been selected from hundreds of events in the U.S. and Canada by an elite tourism industry selection committee. Judges consider an event’s mass appeal, its motor coach accessibility and ability to handle large groups, along with a variety of other criteria. Winners are chosen from amongst a list of celebrations, festivals, fairs and commemorative events.
Medora and Norsk Høstfest are part of KK BOLD’s array of state tourism accounts. The Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation creates a historical, family fun destination for travelers all across the world. For an entire season every year, the Medora musical serves as one of the nation’s most patriotic productions and takes place in the heart of North Dakota’s only national park. North Dakota’s largest summer event, the Medora Musical just finished up its 2013 summer performances and will run June 6 to September 6, 2014, in Medora.
Norsk Høstfest is a five-day cultural celebration and North America’s largest Scandinavian festival, with a yearly attendance of more than 60,000 visitors from across the United States, Canada and all the nations of Scandinavia. The festival, complete with eight concerts from Frank Sinatra, Jr. to Alabama, shopping and eclectic foods takes place in Minot, ND October 1 through October 5, 2013. Their 2014 event will be held from September 30 to October 4.
In 2013, KK BOLD worked on promotional campaigns for both Medora and Norsk Høstfest, marketing both locations’ accessibility, affordability and appeal to visitors inside the state and outside of the country. We are pleased to have contributed to their success and, honestly, we couldn’t be any happier for them if they were our children.
