Everyone’s favorite KK BOLDer, Kalvin Kingsley, is celebrating his 15th Anniversary at KK BOLD. That means 15 years of hearing the line from Shrek, “You there, ogre,” used as a greeting every single morning. That is so, so many years of that.
To acknowledge those 15 years of whatever it is that he does, here is an extremely rough timeline provided by Kalvin of his time at KK BOLD.
1999 – Born the son of a sharecropper in rural Alabama…wait, wrong timeline.
May, 1999 – Started work as the first official K2 Interactive employee. Job title was MIS Director. Had lots of fun being called a “misdirector”. First assigned task – buying myself a computer to use and another one for the next guy to be hired. My first desk was downstairs right by the front door. A lot of guests thought I was the new receptionist.
Sometime in 2001 – Job title changed to Operations Director. Added account managements to my list of duties, handling about 30% of our website clients. First started working with clients. First started entertaining clients with uncanny resemblance to Ducky from Sixteen Candles.
December, 2005 – Hit in head with stick repeatedly. (Ed. note – It’s our one and only Christmas tradition here at KK BOLD. We have video evidence, watch it here. On a loop, preferably.)
October 8, 2009 – Learned how to run the agency popcorn machine.
October 9, 2009 – Burned first batch of popcorn. Office evacuated.
May, 2010 – Had that existential moment when you realize that the company you work for has employed you longer than it hasn’t.
January, 2014 – Joined the agency management team as VP of Information Technology
May 27, 2014 – Burned ceremonial 10,000th batch of popcorn. Received certificate of accomplishment.
And that’s essentially everything Kalvin did in the last 15 years. Here’s to the next 15 years, which should go so much smoother since we’ve revoked his popcorn machine privileges.
Do you have a date we should add to Kalvin’s KK BOLD timeline? Tell us in the comments, or just leave a note of congratulations in the form of a movie quote and/or sarcastic comment. He likes those.
