Geringhoff Going Off in Exciting New Website Direction

Geringhoff, one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of corn headers and other harvesting equipment, has been a longtime client of KK BOLD’s. As such, when they were recently in need for some redesigns on their website, they looked to us. We provided for them some of the most exciting web design production that we’ve ever done.

Geringhoff demands excellence both from themselves and those they work with. Going into their web redesign, we know that’s what was going to be expected of us. So we delivered. We designed a fully responsive website with a new scrolling product layout. We designed a new login area for Geringhoff dealers, and integrated it with warranty and order systems. We updated their “Build a Header” interface, to make it even more seamless and easy to work with. And, possibly most exciting, we designed a parallax scrolling page for the Evolution section of Geringhoff’s website.

Parallax scrolling is a special scrolling technique used in computer graphics, wherein background images move by the camera slower than foreground images, creating an illusion of depth and adding to the viewer’s immersion. It’s a fun way to bring to life a webpage, and relies heavily upon the use of the scroll-wheel and subtle movements to catch the end user’s eye.

The usage of parallax on Geringhoff’s Evolution section helps give the page some dimension, while not having to rely on Flash. It’s best used in small doses, thus it’s limited to just that one section of the website. You can see for yourself just how cool the parallax is by visiting geringhoff.com/about/evolution and scrolling down. See what we mean? The corn stalk turns blue. What else is there to say?

Geringhoff asked for excellence in their new website, and we’re confident that’s what we delivered to them. They were pleased by the end product and their dealers likely will be too, as the new website will certainly make their jobs easier. And we likely made our own jobs easier by providing our client with the kind of quality they expected.

Really nice site. It’s fun and who doesn’t like parallax scrolling?
